Fertilizers can be divided into organic fertilizers and compound fertilizers.
Organic fertilizer is rich in organic matter, most of which comes from natural organic matter such as livestock manure, biological waste, food residues, and straw. Through microbial decomposition and composting, organic fertilizer is formed that changes the soil structure and improves the soil’s ability to retain water and fertilizer.
Compound fertilizer is a fertilizer made from different contents of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and other nutrients through mixing, granulating, drying, screening, and other processes. It has a precise nutrient ratio and can be fertilized in a targeted manner.
Organic fertilizer processing technology
Organic fertilizers are usually produced through compost fermentation, which promotes the decomposition and conversion of organic matter into mature organic fertilizers. After a series of treatments such as screening and impurity removal, high-quality organic fertilizer is obtained.
Compound fertilizers are granulated by wet or dry methods
The production process of compound fertilizer is more complicated than that of organic fertilizer.
The drum granulator uses wet granulation to effectively reduce the dust environment in the workshop. At the same time, the drum granulator has a large output and is suitable for large-scale and batch fertilizer processing. Compared with the disc granulator, the inner wall of the drum granulator is made of special material, which is not easy to stick and is anti-corrosive. It is easier to clean and maintain equipment after granulation.
The double-roller extrusion granulator is a commonly used dry granulation equipment that can be extruded into granular materials at one time. By adjusting the mold, the size and shape of the finished particles can be changed, which has strong adjustability. The dry granulation process requires no drying for packaging, so it consumes less energy.
In general, the production processes of compound fertilizer and organic fertilizer have their own characteristics. They provide necessary nutrient support for the different stages of plant growth.
